Kiss of Crimson- has the 3 C's

First let me say that if I could recant my review of the first book I would! Honestly I started reading this series because I got the first book, Kiss of Midnight (The Midnight Breed, Book 1), free on Kindle - it was the first book I downloaded. If you haven't read that book I suggest you start there. This book is the 2nd in the series and I have to say I enjoyed it as much as the first, but Lucan and Gabrielle will always hold a special place in my heart. Many have stated that Lara Adrian has been inspired by the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, but from what I've read, I don't agree. I felt this series is a lot more riveting than that, and was actually bored with the Brotherhood series.
This book has the 3C's: Continuation of the first in the series that leaves you wanting more, great Characters that you'll love, and Chemistry that is off the charts!! I do feel that if you read the books as intended in order, it will be more enjoyable for the reader, but each books stands alone and this series can be read out-of-order. The heroes and heroines are strong. I fell in love with Tess the first time she comes in contact with Dante. I'm so tired of helpless females who don't have common sense. When Tess drugs Dante, I was laughing for 5 minutes because that's what women in her situation would do, instead of wait to be the victim. I also enjoy how Ms. Adrian has woven and "matched" the abilitites of her couples to compliment eachother.
My favorite thing about this series is how it has an international flair. I love that all the characters are different nationalities and you travel the "globe" as the plot thickens. I will warn you, you have to pay attention because characters from the first book, might show up in the 3rd and 6th, so don't take any characters for granted.
The last series of books that I devoured like this were Harry Potter and The Twilight Saga. All time stopped for me until I finished them in their entirety. My advice is to read all 6 books. I can't wait for the next in the series!

Not quite as good as the first, but almost!

After reading the first book in this series I was chomping at the bit to get my hands on Dante's story, and I must say, Lara Adrian did not disappoint! This was a thoroughly enjoyable read! Dark, moody, tormented heros, intelligent, capable, heroines with secrets of their own, hot, steamy love scenes, plenty of action, and an interesting plot. This book has it all! I did give it only four stars instead of five (would have given it four and a half if I could have) only because I felt the ending was a bit rushed. This book could have had another three or four chapters to it easily. I don't quite understand why she cut it off like that. I felt like Dante and Tess hadn't completely resolved everything yet and the author was busy concentrating on setting up her future books and just kind-of skimmed over it. But still, in all, A book worth reading! Now I need to get my hands on Tegans story! Who doesn't love the strong, silent, broody type? I can't wait!!

Dangerous and Thrilling!!

Book 2 centers around a drug called Crimsom being introduced into the Vamp world turning the average Vamp into a Bloodlusting Rogue. This is the Breed Warrior Dantes story and his love interest is a Veterinarian name Tess. Dante gets really hurt when he intercepts druged out Rogue Vamps. He whines up in the backroom of Tess's Veterinary Clinic, Tess tries to help him but Dante needs her blood to survive so he bites her and takes her blood after scrubbing her memory so she wont remember he sees she bares the mark!! Tess is a Breedmate!!!. I gave this book 4 stars because their was not enough sensual romance between Dante and Tess though out the entire book; like it was in the first book between Lucan and Gabrielle. If it had been more sensual romance this would be a 5 star book!!!
